Corey Paul’s run in the Quarter Million Multi-Room Mayhem came to an end in 4th place, earning him $24,542, his largest tournament cash to date.
In Hand #34, Don Tenney opened to 1.2 million from under the gun with A♥J♥. Corey moved all in for 5.7 million holding A♠7♠. Luke Becker and Guoan “Sushi” Phan folded, and Don made the call. The board ran out 2♥ 4♣ 9♠ 5♥ 10♠, securing the pot for Don and ending Corey’s deep run.
After the elimination, Corey shared his thoughts on the event: “It was awesome. I like the structure. It was slow enough that there was a lot of play, and unlike a lot of tournaments I’ve played, it felt like smooth sailing all the way to the top. Normally, it’s a roller coaster, but this one went better than standard.” He added that this was his number one tournament experience, eclipsing his previous best cash by nearly five times.
Corey confirmed he will be back for future GAPT events at Orange City Poker and Daytona Beach Poker, aiming to return and capture a title. Congratulations to Corey on an outstanding performance in the inaugural Quarter Million Multi-Room Mayhem.
