Momentum continued to build in the Daytona Beach Poker Open $250,000 Guaranteed Event 13 Main Event as Flights 1C and 1D wrapped up, adding more qualified players to Day 2 and pushing the overall field to impressive numbers heading into the final flights.
Flight 1C attracted a strong turnout with 108 entries, and by the end of play, 14 players advanced to Day 2. Leading the way was Wasim Assaf, who bagged the chip lead with 662,000 units.
Assaf’s stack puts him in a solid position as the field narrows, continuing a trend of healthy stacks and competitive play across the opening flights of the Main Event.
Action rolled straight into Flight 1D, which brought in 88 entries and saw 11 players move on to Day 2. When the bags came out, Joe Boulais stood atop the counts with a commanding 1,004,000 units, the largest stack seen so far in the event.
Boulais’ seven-figure bag makes him a clear contender as players prepare for the next phase of the tournament and is the overall chip leader going into Flight 1E.
After Flights 1A through 1D, the DBPO Main Event has now reached 318 total entries, with an average stack of 303,000 units heading into the final flights. With plenty of poker still ahead, the race toward Day 2 — and a share of the $250,000 guaranteed prize pool — is heating up.
Stay tuned for more flight recaps, chip leaders, and continued coverage as Event 13 surges toward its conclusion.
