The Daytona Beach Poker Open continued with Event 8: $200 Mega No Limit Hold’em, which drew 43 entries and generated a $7,095 prize pool.
After the field played down to the final three players, a deal was reached to conclude the tournament. Scott Strickland was recorded as the winner and earned $2,311, along with a $600 entry into Event 13: the Daytona Beach Poker Open Main Event.
Strickland is a regular on the Florida tournament circuit with results stretching back more than a decade. His résumé includes more than $50,000 in documented tournament earnings, highlighted by a runner-up finish in a Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood event for $17,029 in 2024. He has also recorded several deep runs and victories in recurring tournaments at Daytona Beach Poker, along with cashes at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa and other events across the state.
With the victory in Event 8, Strickland adds another title to his tournament record and secures a seat into the upcoming $600 Main Event, where he will look to build on his success later in the series.
