The starting flights for Multi-Room Mayhem IV concluded Saturday at Orange City Poker as Flights 1O and 1P added another 298 entries to the field. With all 16 flights complete, the tournament finished with 1,534 entries and a $306,800 prize pool, surpassing the $250,000 guarantee by more than $56,000.
Flight 1O attracted 165 entries and advanced 17 players to Day 2. Aja Owens led the group after finishing with 632,000 units, placing her among the largest stacks entering the restart.
Owens brought more than $120,000 in recorded live tournament earnings into the event. Her résumé includes a career-best $16,512 cash for finishing third in the 2023 St. Augustine Championship and a fifth-place finish worth $11,733 at the bestbet $100K earlier this year. She also recently cashed in the Daytona Beach Almighty Stack, adding another local result before securing her place in Day 2 of the Mayhem.
The final opportunity to qualify came in Flight 1P, which drew 133 entries and featured accelerated 20-minute levels. Fourteen players advanced, led by Peter Van Deusen with 621,000 units.
Van Deusen has recorded more than $54,000 in live tournament earnings and entered the Mayhem following a strong run of results at Daytona Beach Poker and Orange City Poker. Since March, he has collected several local victories, including wins in the Orange City Spring Champion’s Series, recurring Deep Stack and Triple Stack Turbo events, and tournaments in Daytona Beach. His largest recorded cash came from a third-place finish in the Orange City Super 40’s for $7,146.
Flights 1O and 1P sent a combined 31 players forward, completing a Day 2 field of 144 unique competitors. An additional 17 bags earned $1,000 multi-bag bonuses under the tournament’s best-stack-forward format.
Maroun Akiki entered Day 2 as the overall chip leader with 713,000 units, narrowly ahead of Wasim Assaf with 711,000. The returning field began with an average stack of approximately 319,600 units and resumed in Level 13 with 2:41 remaining.
With the starting flights complete, the focus shifted to the race for the six-player livestream final table and the tournament’s guaranteed $50,000 first-place prize.
