The Daytona Beach Poker Open continued with Event 9: $300 Seniors Classic (50+) No Limit Hold’em, which drew 71 entries and generated a $17,150 prize pool.
After the field played down to the final two players, Lawrence Dowling and David “Moose” Hughes agreed to a deal to conclude the tournament. Dowling was recorded as the winner, earning $4,373 along with a $600 entry into Event 13: the Daytona Beach Poker Open Main Event.
Dowling is a seasoned tournament player with an extensive list of results across Florida and Las Vegas events. His résumé includes multiple deep runs in Seminole Hard Rock Tampa tournaments, a WSOP Seniors Championship cash, and victories in regional events including a Daytona Beach GAPT tournament win in 2024. More recently, he has continued to post strong finishes, including a 5th-place result in a WSOP Circuit event in Dallas/Oklahoma earlier this year and a 4th-place finish at the Orleans in Las Vegas in March.
With the victory in Event 9, Dowling adds another tournament title to his long record of results while also securing a seat into the upcoming Daytona Beach Poker Open Main Event.
