Orange City’s Flight 1K delivered another strong turnout, pulling in 147 entries and sending 19 more players through to Day 2. When the chips were bagged and tagged, Jose Rodriguez stood atop the flight’s leaderboard with 554,000 in play.
Earlier in the day, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as the 106th entry officially pushed the series past its $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. Tournament Director Byron Rodriguez welcomed the news but was quick to set his sights higher. “We’re predicting the total field will exceed 2,000 entries,” he said, “and with that kind of turnout, the prize pool should easily top $400,000.”
With Flight 1K complete, the Mayhem’s overall numbers paint an impressive picture. The series now sits at 1,291 total entries, with 45,672,000 chips in play and an average stack of 234,000. A total of 166 players have secured their seat for Day 2, led overall by Jason Aldridge’s 782,000. Eighteen players have managed to double bag, while two have gone a step further, claiming three separate bags, each extra bag earning a $1,000 bonus and a guaranteed minimum cash. As it stands, Day 2 is set to resume in Level 12 at blinds of 2,500/1,500/2,500, unless a future flight ends sooner.
