The opening day of the Almighty Stack is officially in the books at Daytona Beach Poker, and the first two flights have set the tone for another strong run toward the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Flight 1A, which kicked things off Thursday morning, drew 121 entries, with 16 players advancing to Day 2. By the end of the flight, Le Tieu emerged as the chip leader, bagging an impressive 3,270,000 in chips. Tieu’s performance comes as no surprise, as he previously captured the June Daytona Beach Summer Classic, taking home $35,328, and once again finds himself near the top of the leaderboard early in a major event.
Flight 1B followed Thursday evening and added 73 entries to the field. When play concluded, 10 players advanced to Day 2, with Joshua Christensen finishing the night as the chip leader with 1,655,000 in chips. With shorter stacks overall compared to the morning flight, Flight 1B still produced competitive bags as players navigated the later session.
Through the first two flights, the Almighty Stack sits at 194 total entries, generating a $48,500 prize pool so far, while still chasing the full $100,000 guarantee. A total of 26 players have secured seats in Day 2, carrying an average stack of 746,000. With multiple flights still ahead, the field is shaping up nicely as players look to build stacks, advance, and put themselves in position for a deep run.
More flights remain, more chips are up for grabs, and the road to crowning the next Almighty Stack champion is just getting started.
