Flight 1B of the $150,000 Guaranteed Almighty Stack is now complete at Daytona Beach Poker.

The second starting flight drew 67 entries, with 8 players advancing to Sunday’s Day 2. Mark Marcellus finished atop the Flight 1B leaderboard, bagging 1,550,000 chips. Marcellus is one of Florida’s accomplished tournament regulars, with more than $225,000 in lifetime live tournament earnings. His résumé includes a recent third-place finish in a $1,100 event at the Venetian DeepStack Championship Series for more than $30,000, along with numerous victories and final tables throughout the state. While Marcellus leads Flight 1B, David “Moose” Hughes remains the overall tournament chip leader after Flight 1A with 2,065,000 chips.Another storyline emerged Thursday as Ignacio Hidalgo became the tournament’s first double bagger. Under the event’s Best Stack Forward format, Hidalgo’s larger stack advances to Day 2, while his second qualifying stack is removed from play. He earns a $1,200 bonus from the prize pool, plus the minimum cash for the second bag.

Players advancing to Day 2 will return in Level 18 with 20:58 remaining on the clock. The average stack currently sits at approximately 800,000 chips. With five starting flights still to come, there’s still plenty of opportunity to earn a bag and make a run at the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool.
