Jose Rodriguez’s run in the Quarter Million Multi-Room Mayhem came to an end in 5th place, earning him $18,318.
In Hand #27, Jose called 300,000 with Q♥7♥, with Corey Paul and Luke Becker folding behind. Guoan “Sushi” Phan raised to 1.2 million holding 9♥9♣, and Jose moved all in for 1.5 million. Sushi made the call, and the board ran out 2♠ K♦ 9♠ 10♠ 8♥, giving Sushi a set of nines and sending Jose to the rail.
After his elimination, Jose reflected on his experience: “It was a great experience. You guys put on a great tournament. Just sad that I didn’t get the trophy in first place, but we move on to the next one.” While his run ended shy of the title, his deep finish and sportsmanship earned him the respect of players and railbirds alike.
Congratulations to Jose on a strong performance, and thank you for joining us at the inaugural Quarter Million Multi-Room Mayhem. We look forward to seeing you again at Orange City Poker and Daytona Beach Poker.
